This is a gorgeous mid 20th Century Writing Bureau desk that would complement many antique styled dining, or living room or office settings. Circa 1960.
The beautiful mahogany fall front can be dropped to expose the quality mahogany interior, with a delightful gilt embossed green leather desk top, that is supported by two pull out slats.
The striking interior has a small central drawer surrounded by 9 pigeon holes, useful for storing documents and papers.
The front of the bureau has a smaller upper drawers, and three wonderful large spacious graduating drawers, perfect for storing documents, papers, books or memorabilia. There are no handles to the top drawer.
All of the drawers have two excellent matching figured brass handles.
The bureau is standing proudly on 4 solid feet, with a raised lower boarder surrounding the bureau.
The bureau front displays a rich, warm mahogany patination, and a inlaid design to the desk front and drawers to finish.
This wonderful writing bureau would add a charming vintage style to the home decor.
Overall, this writing bureau is in great condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear as to be expected from years of historical use. There are a couple signs of veneer damage to the front (see photographs).
