This is an exquisite 19th century high back Windsor armchair, displaying beautiful Victorian period features and a rich Ash & Elm patination.
The backrest has a pierced splat back with three circular holes to it.
The back splat is supported by a wonderful swooping hooped back rail and turned spindles to form the backrest.
With a beautiful open armrest design, supported by spindles and two turned front supports.
Leading down to a delightfully carved saddle seat, a lovely period feature for comfortable seating, or simply for a cushion.
Proudly stood on four outward splayed turned legs, connected by an H-frame stretcher providing solid structure and support for this wonderful armchair.
This armchair displays a beautiful rich Ash & Elm patina to the hoop back and saddle seat, only seen in quality period furniture.
This Victorian armchair would add a touch of farmhouse warmth to the living, dining rooms, kitchen, or hallway settings.
Overall, this Victorian armchairs is in excellent antique condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear, as to be expected from years of age (see photographs).
There are historical red paint marks to the underside and between some joints of the chair (see photographs).
