This beautiful 20th-Century writing bureau desk would make for a wonderful addition to a Vintage living room or office home setting.
This is an original 'Ashmore Furniture' A1201 Ladies Bureau, that comes with the original booklet.
The front of the bureau displays a gorgeous, rich mahogany patination with a complimenting inlaid detailing that warms the home interior.
The fall front to the bureau can be held open by the two smooth pull out supports, finished metal drop handles. There is a key present that will lock the drop front shut, to keep the interior safe.
The desk interior opens to a green leather writing desk worktop. The interior has 4 smaller side drawers, with a central door and two book stores to either side, perfect for storing documents and books.
The front of the bureau has a small inlaid upper drawer that has a lock and key to keep safely locked.
The front also has three larger, lower inlaid drawers.
All of the drawers are finished with metal swan drop handles, and a raised lip surrounding the drawers.
This writing desk standing proudly on 4 solid figured feet, with a lower boarder to finish.
Overall, this Writing Bureau is in excellent condition, with minor signs of use and veneer wear (as photographed), as to be expected from an item with years of age. There are minor signs of wear to the leather top (see photographs).
