This is a stunning Victorian writing desk that exudes a delightful period charm to the home office or living room décor. Circa 1890s.
The desk displays a wonderful Mahogany patination that enriches the home setting.
The large rectangular desk has a rectangular shape with an indentation where the user would sit.
The tabletop is finished with a carved, thick lip.
The desk front has a large central drawer, with four graduating drawers to either side of the desk, providing plenty of storage for utensils, documents and books. The drawer are all finished with excellent matching metal drop handles.
The desk has a central knee hole for a chair to comfortably sit under. The knee hole boarder has charming carved additions.
Standing proudly on a solid lower freestanding base, with a raised boarder.
There are 4 rolling castors underneath the drawer plinths, making the desk more portable for use.
This excellent Victorian writing desk is sure to make a statement in a period home setting.
Overall, this writing desk is in great antique condition, with signs of general use and veneer wear, as to be expected from an item with years of use (see photographs).
There is a sign of veneer damage to the lower boarder (see photograph).
There is a historical crack down the width of the tabletop, a crack to the right side of the desk, and a crack to the right side of the knee hole section, but these have no structural affect (see photographs).
