This is a beautiful Victorian writing desk that exudes a delightful period charm to the home office or living room décor. Circa 1890s.
The desk displays a gorgeous Mahogany patination that enriches the home setting.
With a large rectangular shaped desk top with an indentation where the user would sit. The tabletop is finished with a carved, thick lip.
The desk front has a large central drawer, with two smaller side drawers, providing plenty of storage for utensils, documents and books. The drawer are finished with excellent matching mahogany handles.
Below the side drawers are two large doors for further storage, that are lockable with the small key provided. The doors do not have any shelves to the interior.
The desk has a central knee hole for a chair to comfortably sit under.
Standing proudly on a solid lower freestanding base, with a raised boarder. There are 4 rolling castors underneath the drawer plinths, making the desk more portable for use.
This wonderful Victorian writing desk is sure to make a statement in a period home setting.
Overall, this writing desk is in great antique condition, with signs of general use and veneer wear, as to be expected from an item with years of use (see photographs).
To the front central drawer, there is a small engraving saying 'ME' (see photograph).
There are historical signs of veneer damage to either sides of the lower boarder (see photograph).
There is a slight wear sign to the leather tabletop (see photograph).
