This is a delightful 19th-century writing desk that would add sophistication and character to a period home office or living room décor.
With a large rectangular writing desk that displays a rich mahogany patination that truly highlights the craftsmanship of the 19th century.
The desk has a large spacious central drawer, with two side drawers and a lower central boarder to finish. Underneath this sits three graduating lower drawers. All of the drawers are finished with gorgeous circular bun handles. There are historical locks to the drawers but they do not work (see photographs).
The desk top does not come apart from the lower drawers as it is one solid piece.
The desk has a knee hole central carved slot for a chair to sit under.
The desk has a solid lower boarder, that hides the finishing rolling castors to help move it.
Overall, this writing desk is in great antique condition, with signs of use, ring marks and veneer wear to the desk top, as to be expected from an item with years of use (see photographs). There are historical breakages to the carved boarder, but this is only visual (see photograph). There is veneer damage to bottom of the desk (see photographs). One of the lock is missing from the drawer (see photograph).
