This is an exquisite 19th century high back Windsor armchair, with many timeless Victorian period features.
Displaying a gorgeous pierced upper and lower splat back, that is supported by a wonderful swooping hooped back rail and turned spindles to form the backrest.
With a beautiful open armrest design, supported by turned spindles and 2 front turned supports.
Leading down to a delightfully carved saddle seat, a charming period feature that creates a comfortable seating or simply for a cushion.
Proudly stood on four outward splayed turned legs, connected by gorgeous Crinoline stretcher, and two support stretchers that provide solid structure and support for this wonderful armchair.
This armchair displays a beautiful rich Elm and Ash patination to the hoop back and saddle seat.
This Victorian armchair adds a touch of country sophistication to the home living, dining rooms, kitchen, or hallway settings.
Overall, this Victorian armchairs is in great antique condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear, as to be expected from years of age (see photographs)
There are historical cracks to the back of a spindle, and to the Crinoline stretchers, but this doesn't affect functionality at all as it has been previously glued strong (see photographs).
There are signs of historical woodworm to the upper backrest rail of the chair, and armrest, that have been fully treated by the previous owner (see photographs).
