This is a handsome shield back carved hall chair, with gorgeous Georgian Period features that add a country charm to many home settings. Circa 1860.
The backrest has a gorgeous shield backsplat that is encompassed by a wonderful open boarder. To the lower of the backrest are excellent floral carved details.
The chair has a figured seat shape, with a lower lip surrounding.
Proudly stood on two excellently turned front legs, with two square backward splayed legs.
This beautiful Georgian hall chair would compliment many period living, dining or hall way home decor.
Overall, this carved hall chairs is in great antique condition, with signs of use and historical wear, as to be expected with years of historical age.
There is damage to the trim of the shield back at the top (see photograph).
