This is a beautiful Victorian Oak dining armchair, crafted in the 19th century with many elegant period features. Circa 1890.
Displaying an elegantly hand carved pierced back splat, that is joined to the curved backrest rail and sweeping down side rails.
Supporting the backrest by either sides are the maticulously curving mahogany armrests, such a wonderful feature.
With two proudly stood front tapered reeded legs, such a classic finish to the armchair.
The sweeping side rails lead down to form the backward splayed solid square legs.
The legs are all connected by a solid H-frame stretcher.
Such a lovely Victorian country armchair with timeless age that would compliment many country settings, in a dining room, living room or kitchen space.
With a Chenille upholstery seat that has been stuffed with horse hair for a comfortable seating.
There are pins to the underside of the chair seat (as photographed).
There are two signs of marks to the upholstered seat (see photographs).
Overall, this victorian armchairs is in great antique condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear, and a bit of chip wood to the tapered leg, as to be expected from years of age.
There are 2 screws to the back of the chair that hold the backsplat to the frame.
There are 2 slight cracks to the back splat that have been glued, doesn't effect functionality at all (see photographs).
