This is a wonderful Victorian Chest of drawers that adds a historical charm to the bedroom or living room home setting. Circa 1890s.
Displaying a beautiful, rich mahogany patination to the rectangular chest top. The chest top is finished with a carved lower lip.
Hidden beneath the lower lip, and above the drawer is a small, wide hidden drawer which can be opened, and is useful for storing blankets or clothes.
The chest front has an beautiful arrangement of three large drawers that are all finished with gorgeous bun handles. The drawers all have striking key holes, unfortunately there is no key present, but this does not affect the functionality of the chest at all.
Leading down, the chest sits on four solid lower feet, with a raised lower boarder.
This wonderful Victorian Chest of Drawers is sure to compliment a period home setting in a plethora of rooms.
Overall this chest of drawers is in good antique condition, with signs of use, veneer wear and historical cracks to the chest top, as to be expected from an item of this age (see photographs). There is a small piece of wood damage to left side of the hidden top drawer, and a historical crack, but this does not have any functional affect (see photograph). There are historical signs of woodworm to the lower left and right feet boarder that have been fully treated (see photograph). There are historical signs of wood filler to the front of the chest (see photographs).
