This is a beautiful 19th Century mahogany armchair in the Chippendale style. Circa 1890.
Displaying a quality figured backsplat, supported by the curved backrest, and solid curved mahogany side rails, that connect to the wonderful carved outward curving armrests.
The armrests have a handcrafted, quality finish that is only present in true historical antique furniture.
Leading down to form the outward curved square backlegs, conntected to the solid square front legs by a supporting solid H-Frame stretcher, and a square connector between the back legs.
With a gorgeous leather seat that can be removed, and is dropped into the square seat frame. Such a solid and well constructed armchair.
A lovely Victorian Chippendale style armchair with timeless age that would compliment many dining room, living room or kitchen spaces.
Overall, this victorian armchairs is in great antique condition, with slight signs of use and wear, as to be expected from an antique item with years of age, still such a solid chair.
There is a piece of wood to the splat back that has been reglued in position by the previous owner (see photographs).
The leather seat has no rips, but it does show signs of wear and cracking to the leather (see photographs), but still a lovely rich leather colour.
There is a chip off one of the feet (as photographed).
