This is a beautiful 19th Century mahogany armchair in the Chippendale style. Circa 1870.
Displaying a quality curved backrest, holding a wonderful pierced splat design. Supporting the backrest either side are solid curved mahogany armrests.
With a gorgeous Victorian style floral designed needlepoint upholstered seat, this can be removed and is dropped into the square seat frame.
Leading down to form the outward curved square backlegs, conntected to the solid square front legs by a supporting solid H-Frame stretcher, and another stretch between the back legs.
Such a lovely Victorian Chippendale style armchair with timeless age that would compliment many dining room, living room or kitchen spaces.
Overall, this victorian armchairs is in great antique condition, with slight signs of use and wear, as to be expected from a pair with years of age.
There are staples to the underside of the chair seat (as photographed).
