This early Victorian Tilt top table has gorgeous rich mahogany patina that compliments the large lipped inlaid table top.
The tilt top lock is in original working condition, and the original hinges still tilts smoothly. Underneath the tilt top table is the original bird cage design, which can be turned, with a wooden wedge. The wedge is stiff to get fully in when tightening the bird cage.
The tilt top leads down to a elegantly turned vase pedestal, that is stood proudly on three cabroile carved legs with carved feet.
Such a beautiful circular table that could be used in a period living room, dining room or kitchen table setting.
Overall this table is in great antique condition, with signs of historical use, marks and wear, as to be expected from a Victorian era antique item. There is a hole to the top of the bird cage (see photograph). There is a historical crack to the bird cage design, but this has no structural affect (see photograph).
