This elegant dining table displays gorgeous Regency features that would accentuate a period dining room in the home.
The table top has a gorgeous dark inlaid design, surrounding the table top that compliments the rich flamed mahogany patination.
The table consists of two half moon tripod tables that features an extendable design, allowing for three different adjustable lengths. The extension increases the seating capacity from 6 to 8, and finally fully extended, allowing for 10 people seated.
To extend the table one, or two additional mahogany inlaid leaves can be added. The table extensions fit into the table top and are secured with metal caps in holes, and with the metal brackets. To the underside of the table are two sliding long mahogany shaped planks, used to support the table leaves on the top.
This beautiful dining table would be useful for a plethora of occasions, from parties, to large family gatherings, to small intimate dinners.
The two table halves lead down to solid turned plinth bases, leading down to elegantly carved tripod legs. The legs are all finished with metal lion paw castors, and excellent rolling feet.
This table comes with two long mahogany slat supports and 6 metal brackets. There is one screw addition to prevent the wood slats from exiting the table, but the rest are missing.
Overall, this Early 19thC extendable dining table is in great antique condition, with general signs of use and veneer wear as to be expect from an item with years of historical use (see photographs).
