This is a delightful Pine Writing desk that adds a country sophistication and character to the home office décor. Circa 1900.
The desk has a large rectangular green leather desk top, with a floral finishing that surrounds the top. The desk top is finished with gorgeous tall pine boarders. The desktop and boarder can both be removed by the screwed metal brackets underneath, for transportation. (see photographs)
The desk has a very deep and spacious central drawer to the front, and four graduating drawers to the left pedestal.
The drawers are finished with gorgeous brass domed handles, and two keys which keep 2 of the graduating drawers each locked.
The central drawer lock has a lock but it doesn't work with the keys.
The right pedestal has door with a single useful shelf to the interior. (There is a lock but it doesn't work with the keys).
The desk has a central knee hole for the matching pin chair to comfortably sit under. (The chair is included in this listing).
The desk exterior displays a wonderful panelled design, that surrounds the entire freestanding desk, truly enriching the office home decor.
Overall, this writing desk is in great antique condition, with signs of general use and veneer wear to the desk, as to be expected from an item with years of use (see photographs).
There are signs of marks and wear to the desktop (see photographs).
Some of the domed brass handles are historically dinted (see photographs).
There are signs of wood marks to the left side of the desk top boarder.
The pine chair has a crack to the upper backrest rail.
