With a sweeping low curved back rail, connected to the large circular seat with elegantly turned spindles and turned side rails to form the backrest.
The low elbow armrests are supported by the turned side spindles and connected to the solid side rails, making for comfortable seating.
With a generous circular seat, that has a low comfortable position and would make a lovely fireside, occasional chair, or kitchen chair.
The circular seat has a carved penny style carving around the border.
Stood proudly on four outward wide legged stanced, beautifully turned legs.
All the legs are connected with a solid H-frame stretcher.
Displaying the gorgeous Elm patina to the armrests, seat, and legs, this chair is a very well constructed period item.
This gorgeous 1860s Windsor Armchair is a charming addition to many country or period styled homes and would suitably fit in a living, dining room, or kitchen setting.
There are four metal screws that connect the circular seat to all 4 legs. There are also metal screws connecting the armrests to the side rails (as photographed).
Overall, this lovely elbow chair is in great antique condition, with signs of use and wear, as to be expected from years of age.
The wooden seat is slightly rough to the touch at the front, but still a comfortable seating.
