The company was founded in 1791 by shoe maker Samuel Peal in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Each toe section has the original 'Peal's "P.P." Tree 487 Oxford St London' badge to the inside, a lovely feature.

This shoe trees show historical age with a lovely patina, very rare to find set in original good condition.

This decorative antique wooden shoe tree comes in 2 parts the heel and the toe, connected with a flexible metal mechanism to allow the shoe tree to move inside the shoe. The metal mechanism also has a gorgeous flat curved metal handle.

The toe section has a hollowed out underside.

This wood tree last is a well made item of footwear memorabilia that would look great on display or as a prop or just home decoration.

Overall in excellent antique condition with signs of historical marks and a wear, as expected from an item of this age.

There are a couple of historical woodworm holes that have been professionally treated by the previous owner (see photos).

There is are 2 metal construction rods to the foot pieces (as photographed).
