This is a gorgeous walnut writing desk that exudes a wonderful 18th-century style character to the home office or living room décor. Circa 1930.
The desk displays a warm walnut patination and has a rectangular writing top with curved corners, and a wonderful herringbone design.
The desk front has a large upper central drawer, with four deep lower graduating drawers to either side of the desk, providing plenty of storage for utensils, documents and books. The drawer are all finished with excellent shaped brass drop handles.
The drawers all follow the serpentine shape to the desk that protrude from the desk, a wonderful detail.
The desk has a central knee hole for a chair to comfortably sit under.
There is a fantastic lower hidden door under the knee hole, with a small lock and key that provides secure storage.
Standing proudly on 6 solid lower freestanding feet, with a raised surrounding boarder.
This is a charming antique styled walnut writing desk is sure to impress in a plethora of rooms in the home.
Overall, this writing desk is in good early 20th-century condition, with minor signs of use and wear to the desk, as to be expected from an item with years of use (see photographs).
There is are minor signs of veneer wear to the desk top, with minor historical wood cracks to the top (see photographs).
There is a small historical square veneer repair to the desktop (see photographs).
There is a sign of veneer damage to one of the lower feet (see photograph).
