The bookcase is free-standing, and comes in 6 seperate section. The elegant stackable feature makes it versatile and easily to disassembled and reassembled the shelves in a different combination.
There is a top section, 4 glass doored sections, and a lower base section with an interior drawer.
The glass door sections has excellent cut glass.
All the bookcase doors have a beautiful metal button handles to help slide them.
All of the book case shelves have the classic globe wernicke metal scissor mechanism, that helps the glass doors slide easily.
To the top shelf is an original 'Globe Wernicke' sticker to show the authenticity of the set.
There is a metal plaque to the top of the bookcase, reading 'Presented to the Rev. Fred R. Mitchell. By the congregation of Trinity Phesbytepian Church Orrell Park on the expiry of this seven years minitryand expression of their warm affection and esteem. December 1937'.
