This is a stunning George I figured walnut bureau, having a quality figured walnut fall front with herringbone crossbanding.
Opening to reveal a fitted interior consisting of 4 walnut drawers, a hinged compartment, a sliding interior drawer, 8 pigeon holes and 2 sliding walls.
Graduating drawers with early examples of dovetail joints and beautiful brass handles, two short drawers above two long drawers. Standing on 4 solid elegantly carved legs to.
A handsome original 18th century example displaying a fabulous age related patination.
Please note there is no key, and the locks have been historically made unusable.
Overall this writing bureau is in great antique condition, with signs of historical antique age, signs of veneer damage, and a piece of damage wood to the front and back corner is missing (as photographed).
There are very slight signs of historical woodworm, that have been professionally treated by the previous owner.
