This is a classic Elm English stick back chair with many defining Victorian features of a penny Windsor.
The elegant backrest design is formed from beautifully turned spindles and side rails connected by an excellent figured backrest rail.
With a generous circular seat and a carved boarder.
The chair displays a rich and warm Elm patina that is such to enhance many country room settings.
Leading down this lovely chair stands proudly on four elegantly outward splayed turned legs.
The legs are connected by a solid H-frame stretcher, providing such a solid structure for this antique chair.
Such a classic design, this set is perfect for a country dining room and kitchen setting, or for use in the bedroom and hallway.
Overall, this penny Windsor is in excellent antique condition, showing signs of use and general wear as to be expected from a chair with years of historical use and age.
There is a small chip to the backrest and a slight crack to the back of the chair, doesn't effect functionality at all (see photographs).
