This is a gorgeous Writing bureau desk that comes with many fantastic Edwardian period features such as the beautiful satinwood crossbanding inlaid.
The Writing Bureau has a fall front desk that has been adorned with a gorgeous inlaid shell motif, and satinwood crossbanding.
Dropping the fall front exposes the mahogany writing desk that is held by two stands that pull out at either side.
The interior has 6 pigeon holes that all have a figured upper boarder. Inside there are two wide drawers with small metal circular handles, perfect for storing stationary, documents or books.
There are two keys present, one to lock the fall front and the other to lock the drawers (the fall front doesn't lock).
The fall front truly does display a gorgeous Mahogany patina that providing a wonderful contrast to the satinwood crossbanding.
The graduating front drawers are a fantastic feature, all of them have a striking hanging pull drawer handle design, great for providing a lot of room for storage.
All the drawers have been lined with a wonderful vintage classic sheet.

This is a handsome Edwardian Writing Bureau that would compliment many period or country style living, dining room, or office settings.
Overall, this Edwardian Writing Bureau is in great antique condition, with signs of use and general veneer wear, as to be expected from an item with years of age (see photographs).
There are a couple of woodworm holes to the outside of the middle interior drawer, but this has been professionally treated by the previous owner.
There is a long crack to the backside of the bureau, and cracks around the front of the drawers, but it doesn't affect the functionality at all (as photographed).
The fall front doesn't lock as there has been a break to the wood where it previously locked (see photographs).
