This is a stunning Edwardian quality burr walnut writing bureau desk, with timeless period carved finishes. Circa 1910.
A handsome original Edwardian example, displaying a fabulous walnut patination.
With a gorgeous walnut raised boarder fall front with a key hole and key, to keep the interior locked.
The fall front is held open by two side bracket supports that hinge and open the lower wooden supports. Opening the interior to reveal a brown leather writing desk, finished with an embossed boarder. To the inside there is a fitted interior consisting of 4 smaller drawers, and 5 central pigeon holes, and a lower area useful for storing documents and papers.
To the front of the desk there is a smaller upper drawer, above two lower larger graduating drawers.
These drawers also have key holes which are lockable with the key provided.
Standing proudly on beautifully carved foliage claw and ball feet.
Overall this is an great antique walnut bureau with quality signs of use, veneer wear, scratches and marks as to be expected from historical age (See photographs).
There is a minor veneer damage to the boarder of the drop front, and to the back left side corner of the desk (see photograph).
