This a gorgeous Edwardian Writing Bureau desk, that has a timeless and classic finish that would compliment many living, dining or office décor.
Once the fall front is dropped it exposes the gorgeous mahogany writing desk. The fall front to the Writing Bureau has 2 metal hinges to either side, which pulls the square wooden supports out from underneath to hold the fall front and use it as a desk.
The interior has 4 pigeon holes that, between is a wide drawers with small circular handles, and two wide shelves, perfect for storing stationary, documents or books.
The front graduating drawers are a fantastic feature, with striking floral metal hanging handles. These large drawers are great for storing linens, clothing or bedding.
Proudly stood on 4 curved solid feet, a gorgeous feature.
This is a handsome Edwardian Writing Bureau that would be a statement piece in many period homes.
Please note that there is a key present, the locks works for the front drawers, however, the writing drop front does not lock properly.
Overall, this Edwardian Writing Bureau is in great antique condition, with signs of use, and veneer wear (as photographed), as to be expected from an item with years of age.
The pigeon hole interior has been historically dyed mahogany.
There is sign of wear to the lip to the front top of the desk where the lock has worn against the wood over time (see photographs).
