This gorgeous Edwardian armchair features intricate decorative inlaid that truly highlights the craftsmanship from this period.
Displaying a wonderful shield back with a vase and floral motif splatback design, and a lower sunburst design. The motif has additional carved side additions. The splatback is held by the shieldback lower frame with a comfortable upholstered upper frame. The upper frame is also finished with a matching sunburst design.
The shield back connects to the elegantly shaped inlaid armrests that lead down with a decorative floral inlaid design to the sides of the chair.
With a comfortable upholstered cream and floral seat, finished with a cream brocade boarder.
Stood proudly on two tapered square front legs, finished on square feet. The side rails lead down to form the curved back circular legs. The legs are connected by a spindle to the back, a double spindle to either side of the chair, and a square front connector.
This is a beautiful Edwardian armchair that highlights the stunning inlaid craftsmanship, sure to impress in a bedroom or living room period home setting.
Overall, this Edwardian bedroom chair is in great antique condition, with signs of use and wear, a rare quality antique with years of age (see photographs).
The backrest has a plywood finish.
There is a minor visual crack to the armrest and back splat, that's been previously glued, but this doesn't effect the structural integrity at all (see photographs).
There are historical holes to the underside of the chair from previous upholsteries.
