This beautiful and rare armchair has many timeless features and is a testament to the Edwardian era it was crafted in.
With a wonderful inlaid high back, crafted from the top rail, central square splatback and the charming interwoven connecting support design. A truly delightful and unique Edwardian construction.
Displaying a quality mahogany patina to the frame that is complimented by the exquisite satinwood inlaid.
Leading down to connecting open inlaid armrests, which are also supoorted on either side by the interwoven supports, these provide very comfortable support for sitting.
The lower backrest and seating have been previously upholstered in a gorgeous bursting reed design, in a soft light teal coloured fabric.
There are no signs of markings to the upholstery fabric at all (as photographed).
The backrest rails leads down to form the solid square backward splayed back legs.
The armrests sweep down to form the front solid square tapered legs, that have been finished with square carved front feet.
The legs have been connected with a solid H-frame stretcher, that has inlaid to the top and sides, creating such a fantastic finish.
Overall, this antique edwardian armchair is in absolutely excellent antique condition, with minimal signs of use and wear, such a solid period armchair.
There are slight signs of wear to the front of the seat wood (as photographed)
There is a slight crack to the right armrest interwoven support to the bottom, but this does not affect the functionality at all (as photographed).
