This is a beautiful beech kitchen chair with many period handcrafted features that are sure to impress in a country home setting.
The backrest is constructed with 6 elegant turned spindles that are connected by a charming carved beech backrest.
The saddle carved seat displays a wonderful beech patination. There is the original makers mark 'J.R' to the back of the chair, showing it is an original Victorian item.
Leading down this chair stands proudly on 4 solid turned legs, all connected by double turned stretcher to the front, sides and back, providing excellent structural strength.
A gorgeous kitchen chair that is sure to provide a country, rustic warmth, and charm to the home décor.
Overall, this chair is in great antique condition with obvious signs of use and veneer wear to the legs, as to be expected from an item with age (see photographs).
There is a single woodworm hole to the back left leg that has been professionally treated by the previous owner.
There is a sign of wood filler to the front right part of the seat (see photograph).
