This is a beautiful original Bevan Funnell Vintage Writing Bureau Desk that is sure to make for a wonderful addition to a mid century living room or office home setting. Circa 1960s.
The front of the bureau displays a wonderful rich mahogany patination that warms the home interior.
The fall front to the bureau can be dropped, and can be held open by the two smooth pull out supports.
The desk interior opens to a leather writing desk worktop that has been embossed with a gorgeous gilt floral design. The interior has 6 smaller pigeon holes, and a wide pigeon hole to the top. The front of the desk has 4 smaller drawers, and a central larger compartment, perfect for storing documents, papers, books, or memorabilia.
The front of the bureau has a small upper drawer, with three larger lower drawers. All of the drawers are finished with figured metal handles and a raised lip surrounding the drawers.
This writing desk standing proudly on 4 solid figured feet, with a curved lower boarder to fiinish.
There is one key present that will lock the drop front for the desk, to keep your belongings safely stored.
Overall, this Bevan Funnell Writing Bureau is in excellent condition, with minor signs of use and veneer wear (as photographed), as to be expected from an item with years of age.
There are obvious signs of wear to the leather top (see photographs).
