Inside the desk there are 6 spacious pigeon holes, and a large lower storage drawer that provide plenty of space for all your writing essentials.
The interior has a fall front with an impressive mahogany writing desk that is supported by two lower pull out supports. One of the supports gets very stiff when pushed all the way in.
There is a key that allows the drop front and drawers all to be locked.
With intricate floral and drop swing designs to the handles on the two front drawers.
Leading down this elegant ladies writing desk is stood on 4 gorgeous turned bun legs, finished with turned feet. The legs are all connected by a wonderful figured cross frame, a sign of quality craftsmanship.
This desk would fit perfectly in many period style spaces, for use as a workspace or simply a display piece, in the living room, dining room, office, or bedroom setting.
Overall, this bureau is in good vintage condition, with signs of use and wear to the veneer (as photographed).
There has been a historical knock of wood to the front legs, that has been historically glued strong, but still a very sturdy with no structural damage (see photographs).
The lower drawer goes deeper than expected, as there is no stopper preventing it from going further.
